Stories from the Basement
Help and Outreach Point of Entry, Inc.

Donna Clark, Director
The agency has recently had to stop promising to pay for dental care while we wait for the promissory letters we have sent out to meet their expiration dates. We hope that after the first of the year we will have received donations to allow us to continue dental assistance to those in need. Our dental program began in 2015 and we have served 271 different people at an average cost of $350 per person. We have collaborated with Choptank Electric Trust and Joseph House to see that the clients we help get all of the care they need to regain good health. Many times we paid for the extractions and fillings and the other agencies paid for the dentures.
Dental care is not the only health related assistance program HOPE provides to our clients. The agency works with local Ophthalmology offices to provide free eye exams and eye glasses. Collaboration with Tidal Health Community Outreach allows us to provide free flu and Covid vaccines as well. So many people think all we provide is assistance for identification but, we do what we can to help our clients become productive members of our community.
Keep us in your prayers that we may continue to reach the least, the lost, and the last.
