The warm weather is upon us and we are seeing many folks who just want to come down to the cool basement and watch TV. Conversations out in the waiting area vary but all guests behave with respect and they recognize that this is the Lord’s house. When someone was getting agitated last week the other clients reminded him that swearing and aggressive behavior is not allowed. The staff did not have to intervene at all; the clients in the waiting room handled the issue. Each member of our staff is treated with respect and gratitude by those we serve. We feel like we are part of their families sometimes when they share good news about their lives or bring in new babies to see us.
H.O.P.E., Inc. has been serving the poor and marginalized in our tri-county area since1997 and we have positively made a difference in the lives of those we serve. Our agency supplies the tools our clients need to find employment, housing, and health care. We provide a safe place on Mondays and Fridays for people to come and rest where we have warmth in the winter and cool in the summer. Coffee, water, and food are always available to our guests and the fellowship that occurs is amazing. God has always blessed us with everything we need to serve our clients and we can feel His presence in the office.
The agency has received our major funding in the past years from Quality Health Foundation who provides 68% of our income. We were notified in April that their support will be coming to an end in the near future. We still have not heard about our application for funding from them for fiscal year 2015/2016 and are praying for that grant application to be approved.
Please keep our agency in your prayers.
